We would focus on a project at a time, and that did not allow us to be adaptable or flexible to handle new initiatives. When an urgent project came along, the team would either stop what it was doing to do the new project or try to work on both simultaneously with the same resources. These shifts were stressful and sapped productivity. But the short, iterative work cycles that define Agile marketing means multiple deliverables are completed in two weeks or less, and the team is constantly making room for new ones.

Tumblr for Business: Everything You Need to Know

Tumblr may be new territory to many Internet users, but the platform actually launched in February 2007 by then-20-year-old founder David Karp. According to Tumblr, the network has since grown to host over 200 million blogs. Yahoo purchased the site in June 2013.

So what exactly is Tumblr? It is both a social network and a multimedia microblogging platform, and this combination sets the platform apart from other social networks. Tumblr is much more than a place to share status updates and post photos of your pets — yes, you can share those things, but you also have a ton of options at your disposal. Unlike on Twitter, you're not limited to 140 characters, so you can write long blog posts to your heart's content. And unlike on Instagram, where you can only share one photo or video at a time, on Tumblr, you can share photosets and videos longer than 15 seconds. In fact, there are few limits to what you can share on the platform.

Twitter for Business: Everything You Need to Know

Want to be a tactful tweeter? Here's everything you need to know about the social networking platform.

Twitter is a social networking platform through which users can share short messages (under 140 characters each) also known as "tweets" with the rest of the Internet. The platform, which was created and launched in 2006 by founders Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass, is Web-based and has a mobile app in addition to its own native platform, Tweetdeck, which is available on the Web and on mobile devices as well.

Twitter now has over 500 million users worldwide, and over 284 million monthly active users as of September 2014, according to the company's third-quarter financial report. Twitter is one of the top 10 websites in the United States and is currently ranked no. 8 globally, according to Internet analytics company Alexa.

Pinterest for Business: Everything You Need to Know

Ready to take on one of the most pin-teresting social networks out there? Here's everything you need to know before you start pinning.

Pinterest is a platform that allows users to share and save content to virtual collections called pinboards (also referred to as simply "boards"). The social network has both a website and a mobile app, and was launched in 2010 by co-founders Ben Silbermann, Evan Sharp and Paul Sciarra. Initially, the website was available only in a closed beta model, and users could join only by invitation until August 2012, when Pinterest opened to the public.

The platform has a very unique demographic, in that the vast majority of its more than 70 million users (according to a July 2013 study by Semiocast) are female. Globally, 83 percent of Pinterest users in 2012 were female, according to a study by Engauge.

While you can find just about anything on the Web on Pinterest — the website's categories include everything from art to technology, Pinterest is known as a hub for DIY and craft projects, recipes, fashion, home décor and health- and fitness-related information.

Brand awareness costs tens of millions. Smart medium-sized b2b advertisers skip that and stick to something more linear.

Ever think about whether the returns you see as a result of your advertising are enough to keep profitability growth?

For example, if an advertiser nets 20 percent or breaks even with a Facebook click-ad or Google digital ad campaign, is it enough to really grow business?

This short paper shares:

  • secret about Toyota Motor Corporation's "low-tech" habit

  • nuts-and-bolts common sense from a professor of marketing at Thunderbird Management School

  • John D. Rockefeller's opinion on growing market share

All in less than three pages.

Corey Weiner has worked on lead gen / direct response programs for big-name advertisers including Merck and Company, GlaxoSmithKline, Wyeth-Aerst, Novartis, NY Life Advanced Markets, AXA Equitable, John Hancock USA / Manulife and AIG American General.

And over four years doing consumer behavior research for the renowned Nielsen Company qualifies Corey to refine multimedia for advertisers less interested in brand / top-of-mind awareness and more so in seeing sales leads / demand generated.

Voice and SMS Customer Interactions: Unified Communications does it all

There is a growing amount of interest among our existing users to be able to interact with their customers via SMS, particularly in the retail space, but we're seeing examples from other industries as well. Partly it's a generational thing—younger people tend to use SMS as their primary communications mechanism, preferring it over voice. But more and more enterprise customers are telling us that business interactions are happening over SMS in their environments today.
